YATRIK - Frequently Asked Questions(FAQs) about Booking / Fare / Payment / Refund / General

1. How can I find airfares without having to check availability first? Why don't you display a list of fares?
2. How do I ensure that I am being quoted the best fare for my journey?
3. What is a child fare?
4. What is an infant fare?
5. What extra fees and taxes will I be charged on top of the price of my tickets?
6. What are fare rules?

1. How can I find airfares without having to check availability first? Why don't you display a list of fares?

Fares vary with date, intended duration, availability, destination and class. To find the correct fare for your journey you need to tell us the exact flight and date you wish to travel on, as fares quoted depend on flight and seat availability on that particular date, route and class.

2. How do I ensure that I am being quoted the best fare for my journey?

We will display the best fare that is available on airindia.com, for the itinerary that you have chosen.

3. What is a child fare?

This is the level of fare that is applicable to children aged between 2 to 11 on the date of departure. Hence a booking made before a child's 12th birthday for departure on or after this day will no longer be eligible for the child fares. In most cases, children are usually charged a percentage of the applicable adult fare.

4. What is an infant fare?

This is the level of fare that is applicable to children below the age of 2 years, who do not occupy a seat. Infants normally pay 10 percent of the adult fare. If a seat is required for the infant, the corresponding child fare will apply.

5. What extra fees and taxes will I be charged on top of the price of my tickets?

Fees and taxes are included in the price of Air-India’s tickets where appropriate. The ticket price quoted on www.airindia.com is the total price and no additional charges will be added. At certain airports you are required to pay departure tax.

6. What are fare rules?

The price of an Air-India ticket is determined by, among other factors, the fare conditions attached to it. For example, a ticket that allows you to change the dates without charge or receive a full refund if cancelled will be more expensive than a ticket that allows neither of these. To find the conditions specific to your fare, click on "View Fare Rules" to view the rules relating to your chosen flights before confirming your itinerary.
