1. Which flights are available for internet bookings?
Internet booking is available on flights out of all cities on Air-Indias network.
2. I only wish to buy a flight ticket. Why should I register?
Registering as a Frequent Flyer or airindia.com member allows you to take advantage of
our internet services such as accessing your booking details, booking again with us in the
future, changing your meal requests and receiving special offers and updates. Registration
is quick and you only have to do it once.
3. What is a Booking Reference?
The Booking Reference or the PNR is the 5-character alphanumeric code (e.g. HEXW8)
given when a booking is made in Air-Indias reservation system. It is used by our
reservation, ticketing and customer service staff to locate your reservations record and
electronic ticket.
4. Do I receive a ticket when I book a seat on an Air-India
flight?
If you have opted for a physical ticket to be delivered at the address specified in
your profile, you will receive a conventional ticket. However if you have opted for an
E-Ticket, an Itinerary Receipt will be emailed to you.
5. Which ticketing methods are available online?
The ticketing methods available are Electronic Ticketing, Ticket-by-Mail, and Ticket
pick up at the Airport
6. What is ticket-less travel?
When booking through this website you will be issued with an 'electronic' ticket. You
will be sent a receipt email and a link to download your Itinerary Receipt. The Form of
Identification (FOID) for all international passengers is the applicable passport no.

7. Can I purchase an open-dated ticket when I book online?
No. All the chosen sectors must be booked and paid for at the same time.
8. Why can I not make an online booking for flights on certain
dates?
If you cannot make an online booking for a certain flight, it is either because the
flight departs less than 6 hours from the time you tried to make the booking or it departs
more than eleven months into the future, or the flight is full. If so, please contact your
local Air-India office for more details.
9. Can I return to a different city?
No, currently you have to return to the same city, when you book online.
10. Can I amend my internet booking online?
Sorry, we are not able to allow online amendments to your internet booking. Please
contact your local Air-India reservations office for changes to your booking or email yatrik.cell@airindia.in
Do note that penalties may apply for changes, depending on the fare conditions of the
ticket.
11. Can I change my reservation (route, date and time changes)?
If you wish to change any of the details of your booking e.g. date and time, you must
inform us of your changes at least 12 hours before the scheduled departure of your flight.
Changes to your booking may incur a rebooking fee depending on the applicable fare rule.
This can be done at the point where your ticket was issued.
However, our call centers, Airport and City offices would be able to help you in making
changes in your itinerary, irrespective of from where you purchased the ticket.
Please note, change of route is not permitted in any case.
12. What is a code share flight?
A code share flight is a flight that is marketed by one carrier and operated by
another. Code share flights come about as a result of agreements between airlines to sell
seats on each others flights
13. How do I identify a code share flight?
Code share flights will be appended with a remark during flight selection. For example,
AI 8030 from Singapore to Los Angeles is a code-share flight.
14. Is an Air-India online booking valid for travel on other
airlines?
No, all the bookings are solely for travel on Air-India. Tickets are non-endorsable to
any other airline.
15. Can I make a booking for a child traveling alone?
No, please contact your nearest Air-India office.
